Jaime Vegas is a necromancer, Interracial Council delegate, and famous TV spiritualist. She was born Jaime O'Casey but changed her name to avoid being linked to her necromancer family and to aid in her showbiz career.

About[]

Jaime is around five foot four, redheaded, and drop-dead gorgeous. She wears expensive, high-end fashions and is almost always in skirts and heels. She is forty when first introduced, and very conscious of her age in a profession that values the young and beautiful.

She is a delegate on the Interracial Council. Unlike the last necromancer delegate, she wants to be active in helping the supernatural community. However, she struggles with the high-stakes, high-action crises the council often experiences. More often than not, she is a liability in the field. However, she keeps pushing herself and trying to help her friends and allies.

Necromancer[]

As a necromancer, Jaime can communicate with ghosts and raise and control zombies.

History[]

Jaime's mother got her into show biz at a young age, competing in pageants and downplaying her inherited necromantic abilities. Her mother was physically and emotionally abusive, but Jaime continues to care for her financially into adulthood.

In the Series[]

Dime Store Magic[]

Savannah watches a show which Jaime appears on as a TV spiritualist. Paige tells her Jaime is a fraud.

Industrial Magic[]

When Paige and Lucas investigate the murders of multiple Cabal children, they are introduced to Jaime as a way to contact the murder victims. Jaime is able to make contact with the comatose Dana MacArthur to learn about the attack that put Dana in the hospital. She comforts Dana, but afterward tells Paige and Lucas that the girl is functionally dead and will not wake up from life support.

The investigations leads to the accusation and swift execution of Everett Weber. Jaime goes with Paige and Lucas to contact him in the secret, swampy cabal graveyard and instead encounter the demon Esus and the spirit of a discontent vampire.

They eventually hone in on immortality questers Edward Hagen and Natasha, and Jaime is kidnapped by the enemy. Jeremy, Savannah, and Paige rescue her and capture Edward, who is executed by the head of the Cortez cabal.

Haunted[]

Eve seeks Jaime's help to help her track down the Nix. Eve first makes contact with Jaime while Jaime is on a live television interview. Later, Eve scares off a ghost who has been harassing Jaime and in exchange, Jaime contacts Jeremy to get information on murders that might be attributed to the Nix's partners and helps Eve sift through them.

Broken[]

Jaime flies in to consult on the zombie issue in Toronto. When Elena sneaks out to confront them alone, Jaime doesn't rat her out but instead joins her.

No Humans Involved[]

Jaime is working on a TV show when she comes across strange ghosts where she's filming. Jeremy comes out to join her. She, Jeremy, and Hope Adams work together to solve the murders of the child ghosts, who have been killed by humans attempting to harness magical abilities. After four years of pining for Jeremy, he finally shows interest in her and they begin dating, although they recognize that they will continue to live independent lives.

Relationships[]

Eve Levine[]

Eve is Jaime's spirit guide, of a sorts. Jaime can call upon her if she ever gets into trouble and, unless Eve is away on angel duties, she will usually answer. In exchange, Jaime helps Eve skirt the rules about making contact with Eve's daughter Savannah, and also gathers information on Eve's ghostly cases that Eve cannot access from the ghostly plane.

Jeremy Danvers[]

Jaime and Jeremy meet through their work on the Interracial Council. Although Jaime has a schoolgirl-like crush on him from the beginning, he doesn't notice her romantically for several years. Once he does begin to see her that way, it takes him a year to actually act on those feelings. They are cautious, not wanting to ruin their friendship if being lovers doesn't work out. Jeremy also warns Jaime of the dangers of being mate to an Alpha, and how his first priority must always be to his Pack. Jaime understands.

Once they start dating, Jeremy continues to live at Stonehaven and Jaime continues to travel for her shows. They steal time together whenever possible and treasure their rather unconventional relationship.
