Dr. Gonzales is a Peruvian Shaman who appears during the events of the short story Life Sentence. His research is funded by European Cabals, despite this though he was unable to resist Daniel Boyd's offer. He claimed to have isolated and distilled the genetic component that would make anyone a Vampire, for the right price.
He exaggerated his success though, the procedure hadn't been perfected. He used unwilling subjects who were dying or showing no vampire semi-immortality or invulnerability. These subjects were kept in medically induced comas because when awake one began to scream and rip and at his own flesh with his nails.
As his research can't be completed in the time frame necessary for Daniel Boyd his funding is cut. It is unknown if he carried on his work or not or if it had any actual chance of success.
